Please join us for a poetry workshop.
1. Group Workshopping:
Three poems (by three separate poets) will be workshopped by the group. NOTE: These poems can be in any style, any form, on any topic.
2. Themed Discussion:
Ekphrastic poems describe something visual (usually a work of art) in a way that narrates or describes but that can also amplify or expand the meaning or messages of the artwork. They often use vivid, even dramatic words and imagery.
The voluntary take-home challenge: Compose an ekphrastic poem, using the visual source of your choice. If you do this challenge, bring that poem with you the next time you come to the workshop and there will be time at the end to briefly share it.
3. Sharing Poems Inspired by the Last Workshop:
If anyone did the take-home challenge from the last workshop, we’ll briefly share those with the group.
