Please join us for a poetry workshop.
1. Group Workshopping:
Three poems (by three separate poets) will be workshopped by the group. NOTE: These poems can be in any style, any form, on any topic.
2. Themed Discussion:
Topical poems are about current events or contemporary society. We’ll explore a variety of topical poems, and touch on topical folk songs, as well.
The voluntary take-home challenge: Respond poetically to something in this week’s news (and if you’d like a further challenge, submit it to Poets Respond) https://www.rattle.com/respond/
If you do this challenge, bring that poem with you the next time you come to the workshop and there will be time at the end to briefly share it.
3. Sharing Poems Inspired by the Last Session:
If anyone did the take-home challenge from the last workshop, we’ll briefly share those with the group.
