Please join us for a poetry workshop.
1. Group Workshopping:
Three poems (by three separate poets) will be workshopped by the group. NOTE: These poems can be in any style, any form, on any topic.
2. Themed Discussion:
We’ll have some fun exploring the abecedarian poem form, where each line is alphabetical – or, as in Robert Pinsky’s “ABC,” each word.
The voluntary take-home challenge: Make an abecedarian poem, OR make a variation on this theme! For example, use every other letter, or the alphabet of a foreign language, or another similar kind of sequence. If you do this challenge, bring that poem with you the next time you come to the workshop and there will be time at the end to briefly share it.
3. Sharing Poems Inspired by the Last Workshop:
If anyone did the take-home challenge from the last workshop, we’ll briefly share those with the group.
