Opportunities and Announcements: Week of December 21, 2015

For today’s Opportunities and Announcements, I’d like to share with you the results of the 2016 BWW Member Survey. Thank you to everyone who took the time to take this survey. Your answers are helping to shape our 2016 budget, which we’ll be sharing in the new year. And your feedback and suggestions are critical to helping us continue to grow and improve.

In order to help us provide the free workshops, expert panel discussions, writing retreats, and other programming that you’re most interested in, we hope you’ll consider making a donation today. Together, we’ve raised $3,735.00 donated so farand with your help we’ll get to our $5,000 goal. Thank you again to everyone who has donated!

Mud Season Review Issue #15 is live! Check out this month’s issue for art by Abigail Child, fiction by Eric Barnes, nonfiction by Elizabeth Gaucher, and poetry by Jim Richards.

Would you like the opportunity to workshop your poetry with a published poet? We have 2 poetry workshops with published poets coming up and there is a space left in each for submissions to have work review. Our Workshop with Partridge Boswell will be held on Monday, January 11th and our Workshop With Julia Shipley will be held on Monday, January 18th. Both workshops start at 6:30 pm in our Burlington space.

Congrats and thanks

Congrats to Heidi Passalacqua, whose book, Here’s to Making it Count, will be featured on  WCAX’s (channel 3) “Books Over Breakfast” segment on December 23 at 6:55 am.

Thank you to Deena Frankel for coordinating and hosting another successful “Stories by the Fire” event at Hotel Vermont this past weekend. And thanks to Alexey Finkel for sharing a story at the event.
